Mohanlal’s upcoming project with Anoop Sathyan, tentatively titled L 368, will be launched in Kochi with a traditional pooja ceremony on October 30. The yet-to-be-titled film marks Anoop’s second directorial venture after the 2020 romantic comedy Varane Avashyamund, which starred Dulquer Salmaan, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Suresh Gopi and Shobana.

Announced in August, L 368 is produced by Antony Perumbavoor of Aashirvad Cinemas in association with Binu George Alexander. Anoop had earlier told us that the film would be a quirky comedy action thriller with an emotional core, marking a departure from the style associated with his father and veteran filmmaker Sathyan Anthikad.

Mukesh has also joined the cast, reuniting with Mohanlal in a film that aims to explore a different side of their much-loved comic chemistry. Its technical crew includes Bramayugam cinematographer Shehnad Jalal, Aadujeevitham production designer Prashanth Madhav and Thudarum composer Jakes Bejoy, with Anoop himself handling the cuts, besides writing and directing.

Mohanlal will next be seen in Athimanoharam, which reunites him with Thudarum director Tharun Moorthy and Rasathanthram co-star Meera Jasmine. The police procedural drama is set to hit theatres worldwide on December 24 as a Christmas release. The Drishyam actor’s busy upcoming slate also includes Meppadiyan director Vishnu Mohan’s Operation Ganga, Dileesh Pothan’s Nedumkandam Miracle and 2018: Everyone is a Hero filmmaker Jude Anthany Joseph’s next, among other projects with his regular collaborators Sathyan Anthikad, Priyadarshan and Jeethu Joseph.
