Actor Gouri Kishan recently spoke in an interview about taking in the little pleasures of life, such as hanging out with friends. At one point of the conversation, the actor said that she misses those little joys of life. Soon, the actor had to clarify her statement through social media, after a news report allegedly presented a different picture of her thoughts. The report quoted Gouri’s words verbatim but the actor felt it phrased her thoughts as a ‘complaint’.
“When only an excerpt of what is said in an interview becomes a headline, it could change the intended message. I spoke about mundane things, such as going out with friends and enjoying simple pleasures of life. However, it was not a complaint about the amount of love and recognition coming my way. Request you to not be misunderstood based on a single sentence alone,” Gouri Kishan wrote.
She added, “Context does truly matter. I am grateful for all the love and recognition that I receive. Wishing for a more responsible reporting, where readers are not unnecessarily misled and context isn't just for the sake of a headline.”
It is worth noting that Gouri Kishan is a former journalism student.
On the series front, Gouri was last seen in the second season of the Prime Video series Suzhal: The Vortex, which was released last year. When it comes to films, she last appeared in director Vignesh Shivan’s Love Insurance Kompany, co-starring Pradeep Ranganathan and Krithi Shetty. Her upcoming projects include the JioHotstar series Love Always and the film Thagarai. She also reunites with her ‘96 co-actor Aadhitya Baaskar for a film titled Love and War, directed by debutant Rajkumar Rangasamy.
