It is a well-documented fact that Kamal Haasan is an admirer of Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. At an event last year, he praised the CM and his work for the state and its people, and in response, the minister said that the actor "has proved that artists have a life beyond the art" and that he is "is in the heart of every Malayali". Notably, the comments came at a time when Kamal Haasan was facing flack for his remarks about Tamil and Kannada languages, causing a delay in his film Thug Life's release in Karnataka. Now, Kamal has taken the relationship forward with a social media post in appreciation of Pinarayi Vijayan that serves as his endorsement of his continuance as Kerala's Chief Minister.

Taking to X, Kamal wrote, "Wishing Comrade Pinarayi Vijayan, Vijayam. I wish the Chief Minister of Kerala, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan, all the very best for the upcoming election. Above all, I feel that the state, Keralam, is also ende Keralam."

The actor went on to add, "Even if some, in their exclusive mindset, attribute an outsider status to me, I remain emotionally attached to Keralam. Hence, I would urge the beneficiaries of that state (which includes me) to reflect on the past decade and wish him well. Let us make the right decision. Comrade Vijayan vijayikkatte. Keralamum Vijayikkum."

Kamal Haasan was also quick to note that the aforementioned is his opinion. "Ithu ende Abhipraayam," he concluded his post.

Kamal's comments come just ahead of the Kerala Legislative Assembly elections, which are expected to take place on April 09, Thursday. Recently, Mohanlal sat with Pinarayi for a discussion about politics and cinema. Political experts and commentators have argued that the conversation with Mohanlal signifies that the CM has taken a cue from Prime Minister Narendra Modi as part of a strategy of drawing the masses.
