Actor Anna Rajan has spoken out against the circulation of an allegedly morphed image of her on social media, stating that she will initiate legal proceedings against those responsible for creating or sharing the content.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, Anna shared a screenshot of a post from another account that featured what she described as an edited version of her photograph. Calling the act "shameful" and "unacceptable", she said the manipulated image was intended to tarnish her reputation and amounted to "a serious violation of my privacy and dignity".
The actor said she has formally reported the account to Instagram and is preparing to lodge a police complaint under the relevant legal provisions. She added that those behind the edited content would be held accountable and asserted that she would pursue the matter "until justice is served".
Anna also appealed to her followers not to circulate or engage with such content. In the caption of her post, she tagged the Kerala Police and Cyberdome Kerala, requesting immediate action. She further noted that she had preserved the evidence and would be filing an official complaint with the authorities.
This is not the first time the actor has found herself at the centre of an online controversy. Earlier this year, Anna faced widespread scrutiny after photographs and videos taken from certain angles during the Attukal Pongala festival in Thiruvananthapuram went viral on social media.
Responding to the backlash at the time, Anna expressed her disappointment over the way the visuals were presented, saying that moments from a deeply spiritual occasion had been taken out of context. She also apologised if her attire or expressions had unintentionally hurt the sentiments of devotees.
On the work front, Anna was last seen in Daveed and is set to make her Tamil debut with Nelson Dilipkumar's Jailer 2, starring Rajinikanth and Ramya Krishnan. She made her acting debut with the 2017 Malayalam hit Angamaly Diaries and has since appeared in films including Lonappante Mamodeesa, Ayyappanum Koshiyum and Kudumba Sthreeyum Kunjadum.
