The makers of the Joju George-Biju Menon starrer Valathu Vashathe Kallan, directed by Jeethu Joseph, unveiled the film's trailer on Thursday. Scripted by Koodasha filmmaker Dinu Thomas Eelan, it is scheduled to hit theatres on January 30.

The trailer of Valathu Vashathe Kallan opens with a young girl, presumably the daughter of Joju George’s character Sam, quoting John F Kennedy: “Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.” She says this is what she believes in, as Joju nods in agreement.

The tone shifts when Biju Menon’s police officer, Antony, speaks angrily to his superior. “Sir, we need evidence. Just because some nutcase says something, does it become proof?” The officer responds sharply, saying that this attitude is why Antony remains stuck in the same position. Brief shots that follow suggest that someone is missing or has been killed. The tension rises when Sam warns Antony that if he does not follow his method, he will be fully responsible for what happens next.

This is intercut with scenes of Antony continuing his investigation. Sam then asserts his authority over Antony, saying that his intuition was right and that the baton is still with him. He adds that Antony’s turn will begin only when he hands it over, and that until then, the power to show leniency or impose punishment rests with him. The trailer ends with Antony running through a forest at night, apparently chasing someone. The film promises to be a gripping, tense, and emotionally driven crime drama.

Valathu Vashathe Kallan also stars Irshad Ali, Manoj K U, Aadujeevitham-fame K R Gokul, Shaju Sreedhar, and veteran filmmaker Shyamaprasad, among others. On the technical front, the film has cinematography by Satheesh Kurup, editing by Vinayak V S, and music by Vishnu Shyam. It is produced by Shaji Nadesan, with Tonson Tony, Sunil Ramady, and Prasanth J Nair serving as the co-producers.
