Earlier, we reported about producer Anoop Kannan claiming that he has faced a financial loss after Biju Menon failed to appear for promotions for their film Nadanna Sambhavam. Anoop's revelations came hot on the heels of FEFKA General Secretary and filmmaker B Unnikrishnan's public criticism of Biju for his failure to comply with contractual obligations. Unnikrishnan said that a producer faced a loss of 25 lakh due to Biju not attending film promotions. Meanwhile, Anoop has filed a complaint with the Producers’ Association.

The latest development in the controversy is that the association has made its stance against Biju Menon more intense by asking him to pay 15 lakh as compensation for Anoop's loss. The association has told him to pay the amount using the money from his film with producer Listin Stephen. In a recent letter, the organisation has also said that it will no longer cooperate with Biju if he fails to compensate the Nadanna Sambhavam producer.

Unnikrishnan also said that Biju did not attend promotions for Valathu Vashathe Kallan, directed by Jeethu Joseph and also starring Joju George. While the actor attended the press conference for the film, he did not go to other promotional events such as interviews. There has been much discourse about the matter on social media, with some users criticising the actor for his actions and others claiming that a film would run in theatres if it is well made, whether or not its cast promotes it extensively. These users argue that an actor should not face such criticism as long as they do their primary job well.

Biju Menon is yet to respond to the allegations levelled against him. Meanwhile, filmmaker-actor Anoop Menon weighed in on it in a recent media interaction.
