Jayasurya's next with Kalamkaval director Jithin K Jose begins with pooja

Recently, we reported about actor Jayasurya joining hands with writer-director Jithin K Jose of Kalamkaval fame on a new film. The latest development about the project is that its pooja function has been completed at Mookambika Temple. Jayasurya made the announcement earlier this Sunday. Production on the film is set to commence after the summer season this year. The makers are expected to announce the title in the near future.

Rajeev Govindan is attached to produce the yet-untitled film under the Magic Moon Productions banner, known for backing films such as Ordinary and Anarkali. Magic Moon Productions is also associated with Kaaliyan, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran.

Official plot details are kept under wraps with regard to the Jayasurya-Jithin K Jose film. However, according to reports from industry insiders, the film is planned as a big-scale thriller that delves into black magic and the Karuthachan Oottu ritual.

Jithin made his debut with the 2025 thriller Kalamkaval, starring Mammootty and Vinayakan in important roles. The film earned much critical appreciation and became one of the most successful films of the year. On the other hand, Jayasurya was most recently seen in Aadu 3: One Last Ride - Part 1, which reportedly grossed around 120 crore from theatres worldwide. The actor's upcoming films also include Kathanar, directed by Prince Joy of Anugraheethan Antony fame and co-starring Anushka Shetty, and first-time director Ratheesh Vega's military actioner Operation Tral.
