Producer Gokulam Gopalan has announced a new film under Sree Gokulam Movies, this time with Bharathanatyam 2 Mohiniyattam director Krishnadas Murali. The update was shared by the production house on social media, accompanied by a photo of Krishnadas, alongside Gopalan and executive producer Krishnamoorthy. No details about the cast or story have been revealed yet.

This comes soon after the banner announced another project with Vaazha 2 director Savin SA. Both announcements arrive at a time when Vaazha 2 and Mohiniyattam are performing exceptionally well at the box office, with the latter emerging as a dark horse during the Vishu season, despite strong competition from the former, led by social media stars.

Mohiniyattam is especially notable because the first part, the 2024 film Bharathanatyam, did not perform well in theatres and only gained attention later on streaming. Instead of repeating the same style, Krishnadas has taken a different route with the sequel. While the first film was a light family drama, Mohiniyattam shifts into a dark comedy thriller, which has worked big time in its favour.

Meanwhile, Sree Gokulam Movies also has Rojin Thomas's ambitious horror fantasy Kathanar, headlined by Jayasurya, the Suresh Gopi-starrer Ottakkomban, Mohanlal's L 367, directed by Meppadiyan-fame Vishnu Mohan and the Tamil film Killer, starring SJ Suryah, in the pipeline.
