Boney Kapoor joined the list of celebrities congratulating actor Mohanlal on being conferred the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. The announcement was made by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on December 20.

Taking to X, the producer wrote, "A true legend. A national treasure. A proud moment for Kerala, Malayalam cinema and for every Indian movie buff. Truely Mohanlal Garu deserves this national honour ‘Dada Saheb Phalke Award ‘ the highest recognition in Indian Cinema. "

On conferring the award to Mohanlal, the Ministry wrote, "Mohanlal’s remarkable cinematic journey inspires generations! The legendary actor, director, and producer is being honoured for his iconic contribution to Indian Cinema. On winning the award, the Mohanlal took to his X page and wrote, "Truly humbled to receive the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. This honour is not mine alone, it belongs to every person who has walked alongside me on this journey." The actor will receive the awards at the ceremony which will be held on September 23.
