The makers of Night Riders announced on Friday that rapper Vedan is part of the film, starring Mathew Thomas in the lead role. The film’s production banner made the announcement with a photograph of Vedan performing a song. They captioned the post: “Louder than fear. Stronger than silence. Welcome onboard Vedan.” The announcement comes at a time when Vedan faces sexual harassment allegations.
The film, which marks editor Noufal Abdullah’s directorial debut, is a horror-comedy set in a village with age-old myth. Jyothish M and Sunu AV, known for Pranaya Vilasam, have written the screenplay together.
The cast also includes Aavesham star Roshan Shanavas, Meenakshi Unnikrishnan, Sarath Sabha, Abu Salim, Vishnu Agasthya, Rony David Raj, Merin Philip, Noushad Ali, Sinil Sainuddin, Naseer Sankranthy and Chaithra Praveen.
Besides directing Night Riders, Noufal serves as its editor as well. As an editor, Noufal is known for his work on films such as Anuraga Karikkin Vellam, Kettiyolaanu Ente Malakha, The Great Father, and Sudani from Nigeria.
The film’s technical team includes cinematographer Abhilash Shankar as well as composers Yakzan Gary Pereira and Neha S Nair. Abbas Thirunavaya, Sajin Ali and Dipen Patel are producing it through their A & HS Productions banner.
The film is slated for an October 10 release in theatres.
Meanwhile, Vedan has worked on Mari Selvaraj's Bison, starring Dhruv Vikram.
