A release date has been announced for Pathirathri, starring Navya Nair and Soubin Shahir in lead roles. The film is all set to hit theatres on October 17, ahead of the Deepavali festival.
Carrying the tagline “One Night, Two Cops”, the film marks the second directorial outing of Ratheena, who previously helmed Mammootty’s critically acclaimed 2022 drama Puzhu.
Set in a village in Idukki, Pathirathri is described as a police drama inspired by true events. The film also features Sunny Wayne, Shabareesh Varma, and Ann Augustine in key roles. The screenplay is written by Shaji Maraad, who earlier co-wrote the much-praised Ela Veezha Poonchira.
Produced by KV Abdul Nazer under the Benzy Productions banner, the story unfolds over the course of a single night, following two police officers as they confront a tense chain of events. The film’s technical team includes cinematographer Shehnad Jalal of Bramayugam fame, editor Sreejith Sarang, and composer Jakes Bejoy.
