The makers of The Pet Detective, toplined by Sharaf U Dheen and Anupama Parameshwaran, revealed that the film will release on October 16. The makers of the film also announced that a trailer for the film will be announced soon.

The Pet Detective, which is the directorial debut of Praneesh Vijayan, was set to be released on April 25. Praneesh Vijayan has written the film along with Jai Vishnu. Praneesh and Jai Vishnu have worked on Sharaf U Dheen-starrers, with the former serving as a writer on Happy Wedding (2016) and the latter serving as a writer on Madhura Manohara Moham (2023).

The film's cast also includes Vinay Forrt and Joemon Jyothi.

Sharaf U Dheen is producing the film along with Gokulam Gopalan. Baiju Gopalan and VC Praveen are serving as co-producers along with Krishnamoorthy serving as an executive producer. Sree Gokulam Movies and Sharaf U Dheen Productions are backing the film.

Rajesh Murugesan is composing the music for The Pet Detective, from lyrics by Adhri Joe and Shabareesh Varma. The crew of the film also includes Anend C Chandran as the director of photography, Abhinav Sundar Nayak as the editor, Dino Shankar as the production designer, and Mahesh Mathew as the stunt choreographer.
