Ahead of its world premiere at IX Yalta International Film Festival next week, Theatre: The Myth of Reality's makers dropped a trailer for the Rima Kallingal starrer a while ago. The film, hailing from Biriyani director Sajin Babu, stars Rima as a woman in a precarious situation. The people of her village believe that an age-old curse is haunting her. As per its makers, meanwhile, Theatre explores the fragile lines between reality and mythology.

Theatre: The Myth of Reality, which debuted its trailer at the recent Cannes Film Festival, also features Pramod Veliyanad playing an important character. The film earned Rima Best Actor and Pramod a special jury award at the Kerala Film Critics Awards in the recent past.

The film is produced by Anjana Philip and Philip Zackaria under the banner of Anjana Talkies, alongside Santhosh Kottayi who serves as a co-producer. Its technical team includes cinematographer Syamaprakash MS, editor Appu Bhattathiri, and composer Saeed Abbas.

Sajin Babu, who won a Special Mention for Direction at the 67th National Film Awards for Biriyaani - Flavours of the Flesh, has directed Theatre from a screenplay based on his own story. He is also the dialogue writer for the film. Theatre is slated for an October 16 release in theatres.
