Even as it has dropped on JioHotstar, director Dominic Arun's film Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra completed 75 days in theatres the other day. The film's producer, Dulquer Salmaan's Wayfarer Films banner, revealed that it continues to play at PVR theatres in Kerala and VOX Cinemas in Dubai. A few days ago, it became the first Malayalam film to collect more than 300 crore from theatres worldwide. According to the box office tracker Sacnilk, it has grossed around 184 crore from theatres in India alone.

Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra tells the story of an immortal woman (Kalyani Priyadarshan) who uses her extraordinary powers to act against all the injustice that happens around her. However, when dark forces come to know about Chandra/Kalliyankattu Neeli's existence and her powers, she has no option but to fight back to save both her and her loved ones' lives.

Lokah's 75-day-long theatrical run is a rarity at a time when every other film usually becomes available for streaming in about a month of its release. The film's success factors include the international-standard visual effects and music, Dominic's storytelling, and the uniqueness that comes with watching a superwoman power her way through all the men.
