Mohanlal's recent blockbuster Thudarum has earned a coveted spot at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI). The film has been officially selected for screening in the Indian Panorama category. Sharing the news on social media, the veteran actor expressed his gratitude to the festival organisers and his fans. “Honoured and delighted to share that #Thudarum is an official selection at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in the Indian Panorama category. Thank you for this incredible recognition,” he wrote.

Released earlier this year, Thudarum proved to be a massive box-office success, garnering both critical and popular acclaim. The film reportedly grossed around ₹237.76 crore worldwide, including approximately ₹143.96 crore from the domestic market and ₹93.80 crore from overseas territories.

Directed by Tharun Moorthy, who co-wrote the screenplay with K R Sunil, Thudarum is an intense family-action drama produced by M Renjith under Rejaputhra Visual Media. The film brought Mohanlal and Shobana back together on screen. It also features Prakash Varma in his acting debut as the antagonist, with Thomas Mathew, Amritha Varshini, and Binu Pappu in key roles.

Set in the quiet village of Perunad in Ranni, Thudarum follows the life of Shanmugham, a former stuntman turned taxi driver, whose life takes a dark turn when his car is seized in a police investigation. What begins as an ordinary mishap soon unfolds into a gripping tale of crime, loss, and redemption, as Shanmugham is forced to confront long-buried truths.

Meanwhile, director Tharun and Mohanlal are set to collaborate once again on a new project produced by M Renjith, who also bankrolled Thudarum. The upcoming film was officially announced during the success meet of Thudarum, promising another exciting collaboration between the trio.
