Thudarum star Mohanlal announced through social media that the film has minted 100 crore at the global box office a week after its release. It is the second consecutive Mohanlal-starrer to cross the 100-crore mark this year; earlier, L2: Empuraan reportedly grossed more than 250 crore worldwide, thus becoming the highest-grossing Malayalam film of all time. The buzz in the industry is that the film is all set to break L2: Empuraan's record. The makers of Thudarum celebrated the occasion by releasing its promo song, 'Kondattam', a fast number featuring Mohanlal, Shobana, and Thomas Mathew, among others. The song does not feature in the film, though.

Also starring Shobana, Binu Pappu, and Prakash Varma, Thudarum tells the story of a former stuntman-turned-cab driver played by Mohanlal. The film has been earning appreciation for Tharun Moorthy's direction, Jakes Bejoy's music, and the performances from everyone, most notably Mohanlal and Prakash Varma.
