The makers of Mohanlal's Thudarum, helmed by Saudi Vellakka director Tharun Moorthy, released the film's trailer on Wednesday. Co-scripted by KR Sunil and Tharun, it features Shobana as the female lead, reuniting her with Mohanlal after their last collaboration in Sagar Alias Jacky Reloaded (2009).

The 1-minute-57-second trailer of Thudaram begins with Mohanlal recounting a memory to Maniyanpilla Raju, explaining that he once had a maths teacher who would always appear unexpectedly whenever the students were hoping for a free period. The teacher would pose the most difficult questions, ones no one could ever answer. When they failed to respond, he would make them stand outside the classroom, humiliating them. In response, Maniyanpilla Raju mockingly remarks that it is unlikely Mohanlal has ever seen the inside of a school. The trailer then introduces Mohanlal as a taxi driver, with Shobana playing his wife. We catch glimpses of their family life with their two children, interwoven with scenes set inside a police station. Mohanlal's character is shown to have a deep attachment to his car, treating it as if it were his own child. He is later seen at the police station, seeking help regarding an issue related to his car, but he receives neither support nor a solution from the officers. In the final stretch, the trailer takes a more serioes turn as Shobana’s character remarks that the moment Mohanlal gets hold of the car, he will completely lose control. The film promises to be an intriguing family drama centred around his car.

Thudarum also stars Binu Pappu, Farhaan Faasil and Aanandam-fame Thomas Mathew, among others. The film has cinematography by Shaji Kumar, music by Jakes Bejoy, sound design by Vishnu Govind, and editing by the late Nishadh Yusuf and Shafeeque VB. It is produced by M Renjith under the banner of Rejaputhra Visual Media.
