Arjun Ashokan's Sumathi Valavu shoot completed

The upcoming horror film marks the reunion of writer Abhilash Pillai and director Vishnu Sasi Shankar after Malikappuram

After 84 days of shoot, the filming of Arjun Ashokan's Sumathi Valavu has been wrapped up. On the last day of shoot, the makers honoured the crew members by gifting them a new pair of dress and an extra day's payment. Murali Kunnumpurath's Waterman Films LLP is co-producing the film with Think Studios. The makers have confirmed May 8 as the release date.

Sumathi Valavu, a horror film, marks the reunion of writer Abhilash Pillai and director Vishnu Sasi Shankar after the success of Malikappuram. As per an earlier released motion poster, it is about a haunted place called Sumathi Valavu, guarded for centuries by the spirit of a Tamil woman named Sumathi.


The film also stars Balu Varghese, Malavika Manoj, Gokul Suresh, Saiju Kurup, Sidharth Bharathan, Sshivada, Shravan Mukesh, Pani-fame Bobby Kurian, Abhilash Pillai, Manoj KU, Gopika Anil, Sija Rose, Nandu, Sreejith Ravi, Kottayam Ramesh, Sminu Sijo, and Sreepathyan and Devananda, the two child actors from Malikappuram.


Sumathi Valavu has music by Ranjin Raj, cinematography by Shankar PV, and editor Shafique Mohamed Ali.
