Writer Abhilash Pillai is set to turn a producer with a new film, which will be launched on June 15 in Kochi. The film's cast and crew details will be officially announced during the event, which is expected to be attended by many prominent faces from the industry.

Abhilash Pillai made his debut as a writer in 2022 with Vysakh's Night Drive, starring Anna Ben, Indrajith Sukumaran, and Roshan Mathew. The same year Abhilash debuted in Tamil with Cadaver, a police procedural thriller headlined and produced by Amala Paul. The writer's other credits include Patham Valavu, Malikappuram, and Anand Sreebala.

Abhilash is currently awaiting the release of Sumathi Valavu, directed by Malikappuram-fame Vishnu Sasi Shankar. The upcoming horror thriller stars Arjun Ashokan, Balu Varghese, Sidharth Bharathan, Gokul Suresh, Saiju Kurup, and Sshivada among others. Though the film has been censored with a U/A certificate, its release date is yet to be announced.
