On Thursday, Neeraj Madhav and Althaf Salim’s upcoming film Pluto was launched in Kochi with a traditional pooja ceremony, which was attended by the cast and crew. Written and directed by debutant Niyas Muhammed, it is a science fiction comedy that also features Aju Varghese and Mukundan Unni Associates-fame Arsha Chandini Baiju in prominent roles.

Pluto was announced earlier in April, with newcomer Shamal Chacko initially attached as director. The makers also unveiled a teaser featuring the lead actors Neeraj and Althaf, with the latter revealed to be playing an alien. At the time, Niyas was credited as the writer and creative director of the project. As of now, Enkilum Chandrike filmmaker Adithyan Chandrashekar has taken over as creative director.

On the technical front, Pluto has cinematography by Sreeraj Raveendran, editing by Sanath Sivaraj, and music by Ashwin Aryan and Arcado. The film is produced by Reju Kumar and Resmi Reju under the banner of Orchid Films International, with Jayakrishnan RK serving as the executive producer.

Neeraj was last seen in the JioHostar web series Love Under Construction, alongside Gouri G Kishan and Aju Varghese.

Meanwhile, Althaf is gearing up the release of his sophomore directorial Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira, headlined by Fahadh Faasil and Kalyani Priyadarshan, which is slated to hit theatres on September 4 on the occasion of the Onam festival.
