On Tuesday, Mohanlal announced a new film, tentatively titled L 365, which is to be helmed by actor Austin Dan Thomas in his directorial debut. It is written by Ratheesh Ravi, best known for scripting Anuraj Manohar’s Ishq and penning the dialogues of Khalid Rahman’s Alappuzha Gymkhana.

L 365 will feature Mohanlal in the role of a police officer. More details regarding the upcoming film’s extended cast, technical crew, plot and genre are yet to be disclosed. It is produced by Ashiq Usman under his namesake banner, who has backed films such as Kali, Anjaam Pathiraa, Thallumaala and Bromance.

Apart from serving as the chief associate director of Anjaam Pathiraa, Austin has acted in films including Thallumaala, Vijay Superum Pournamiyum and Ganagandharvan.

Mohanlal will next be seen in Sathyan Anthikad’s Hridayapoorvam, alongside Malavika Mohanan and Premalu-fame Sangeeth Prathap, slated to hit theatres on August 25 for Onam.
