The makers of Mammootty's Dominic and The Ladies' Purse have released a new song video online. Titled Margazhi, it is sung by Keerthana Vaidyanathan and Kapil Kapilan. Darbuka Siva composed the track, which has lyrics by Vinayak Sasikumar. It is a classical song featuring visuals of a dance performance from debutant actor Sushmita Bhat, while Mammootty's character CI Dominic watches in admiration.

Dominic and the Ladies' Purse, which marks the directorial debut of Gautham Vasudev Menon, is a whodunnit thriller with an ample dose of humour in it. Mammootty plays Dominic, a cop-turned-private detective with excellent observation and investigative skills. Dr Neeraj Rajan, Dr Sooraj Rajan and Gautham Menon have scripted the film, which revolves around Dominic's dogged pursuit to find the owner of a ladies' purse and the mystery behind her missing.

An excerpt from CE's review of the film reads, "This restrained origins film remains focused and unembellished, content with telling Dominic’s first chapter without the distraction of unnecessary flourishes."
