The makers of Dulquer Salmaan’s next Malayalam film, helmed by RDX director Nahas Hidhayath, have added music director Jakes Bejoy to its technical team, alongside Manjummel Boys production designer Ajayan Challissery and Thallumaala cinematographer Jimshi Khalid. Tentatively titled D40, the upcoming film marks Dulquer’s return to Malayalam after the debacle of a film King of Kotha (2023), which also had a soundtrack composed by Bejoy. While plot and extended cast details remain secret, it’s reported that Antony Varghese will play a key role in DQ 40.

Dulquer also has two more Malayalam films in the offing—one with Parava director Soubin Shahir and another with an unnamed debutant director. The Lucky Bhaskar actor is also working on the Tamil period film Kaantha, directed by Selvamani Selvaraj, and the Telugu film Aakasam Lo Oka Tara, helmed by Pavan Sadineni.

Meanwhile, Bejoy is also composing for Mohanlal’s Thudarum, set to release on January 30.
