Pani, Joju George's first film as a director in which he also plays the protagonist, is set to premiere on SonyLIV on January 16, announced the makers on Monday. The film, released theatrically last year on October 24, opened to generally positive reviews from both critics and general audiences. It reportedly went onto become Joju's biggest hit in his career.

An action-packed mass entertainer, Pani also features Abhinaya, Abhaya Hiranmayi, Prashanth Alexander, Sujith Shankar, and former Bigg Boss contestants Sagar Surya, Junaiz and Rinosh George in key roles. The film is produced by Joju's banner Appu Pathu Pappu Productions, in collaboration with AD Studios and Sree Gokulam Movies. In addition to Malayalam, it will also have dubbed versions in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.

An excerpt from the CE review of the film reads, "Despite some generic writing and blips in crafting a thrilling latter half, Joju makes an assured debut with Pani. As an actor, it took him an agonisingly long journey before he made a mark, but that's definitely not the case as a filmmaker—his debut brims with promise."
