L2: Empuraan's latest character introduction poster features actor Kishore Kumar G as an Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer named Karthik. The actor is popular for his roles in many Tamil and Kannada films like Polladhavan, Aadukalam, Vada Chennai, Vettaiyan, Kantara, etc. He has also done notable roles in Malayalam films like Thiruvambadi Thamban, Pulimurugan, and Kannur Squad.

In a brief introduction video released by the Empuraan team, Kishore defines Karthik, a new addition to the Lucifer franchise, as a pivotal role of an IB officer, who "navigates two worlds and tries to maintain decorum." He is also seen expressing his delight in being part of the film and working under Prithviraj Sukumaran's direction. Despite the challenges of delivering lengthy lines in English and Malayalam, Kishore added it was an interesting experience working with an actor-turned-director.

Empuraan marks Mohanlal's return as Khureshi-Ab'raam/Stephen Nedumbally. The returning cast members also include Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Indrajith Sukumaran, Saikumar, Nandu, Saniya Iyappan, Sshivada, and Baiju Santhosh. Produced by Aashirvad Cinemas and Lyca Productions, the film is set for release on March 27.
