Remember when Prithviraj once criticised all the clamour around his residence after the loss of his actor father, Sukumaran? In pictures available from the day, a young Prithviraj appears shell-shocked during his father's funeral function. Years later, Prithviraj said that he behaved like that because he was young and due to the constant noise at the location. He also questioned people's behaviour at the time. Now, after Sreenivasan's death, Prithviraj's producer wife, Supriya Menon, has expressed a similar sentiment. Supriya took to her Instagram Stories and wrote, "Grief is such a personal emotion. To see a grieving family not have any space to mourn their beloved is so tragic." She went on to add, "Multitudes of cameras/mobile phones everywhere. Selfies taken in the corners, people pointing to the actors walking in. Many of whom are mourning their beloved colleague. Don't the dead and the living they leave behind deserve better? What a spectacle every moment of life has become..."

Supriya, who also has a background in journalism, questioned the nature of the media coverage that has been given to the loss of one of Malayalam cinema's greatest talents. "How much coverage is too much?" she asked.
