Earlier, we reported about Suraj Venjaramoodu being speculated to be part of the cast of director Nelson Dilipkumar's Jailer 2, alongside Rajinikanth. A while ago, Suraj took to social media to wish the superstar on his birthday and teased his involvement in the upcoming film. "Happy birthday to the one and only Superstar, Rajinikanth! Sharing the screen with you was a true honor and privilege." While Suraj did not mention Jailer 2 in his post, sources close to him told CE that he has wrapped his portions in the film.
Ramya Krishnan and Vinayakan are also part of the film's cast. Meanwhile, Shivarajkumar and Mohanlal, who made cameo appearances in the film, are set to come back for the Jailer sequel, it is speculated that the likes of Nandamuri Balakrishna, Mithun Chakraborty, and Vidya Balan play roles in the film as well.
Interestingly, Vinayakan's character dies at the end of Jailer, but the confirmation of his involvement in the sequel has fuelled some speculation about his exact role in it. Vinayakan is yet to reveal the specifics of his role in the sequel to the 2023 film.
Coming back to Suraj Venjaramoodu, the actor made his debut in Tamil cinema with Veera Dheera Sooran - Part 2, alongside Vikram. He also has a role opposite Dhanush in the Vignesh Raja directorial, tentatitvely titled D54. The other day, the actor took to social media and revealed that he has completed his portions in the film, which marks Dhanush's 54th film in his career.
Also coming back for the sequel are composer Anirudh , editor R Nirmal, and director of photography Vijay Kartik Kannan. Kalanithi Maran's banner Sun Pictures is producing the film, which is slated for a June 12, 2026, release in theatres.
