Advance bookings for this year’s biggest Onam releases are all set to go live. The makers of Mohanlal's Hridayapoorvam and Kalyani Priyadarshan-Naslen's Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra have officially announced that reservations will open on Monday, August 25, from 10 AM onwards across theatres. The two films, both slated to release on August 28, are among the most anticipated titles of the season and will be going head-to-head at the box office.

Hridayapoorvam marks the 20th collaboration between Mohanlal and director Sathyan Anthikad, a creative duo with a legacy spanning over four decades. Set in Pune, the new film features Malavika Mohanan as the female lead, along with Sangeeth Prathap, Sangita, Siddique, Nishan, Baburaj, Lalu Alex, and Janardhanan. The story is by Akhil Sathyan, with the screenplay and dialogues written by debutant Sonu TP. Produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the Aashirvad Cinemas banner, it recently cleared censor formalities with a clean U certificate, positioning it as a family-friendly festive entertainer.

Sharing the Onam spotlight is Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, a fantasy entertainer written and directed by Tharangam filmmaker Dominic Arun. Produced by Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films, the project also stars Chandu Salimkumar, Arun Kurian, Vijayaraghavan, Sandy, and Raghunath Paleri. Actor Santhy Balachandran has been credited with the film's additional screenplay and dramaturgy. Certified U/A by the censor board, it is billed as the opening chapter of a larger franchise and will be release in multiple languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.

Alongside these two big titles, Onam will also see Fahadh Faasil’s Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira, also starring Kalyani, and Hridhu Haroon-Preity Mukhundhan’s Maine Pyar Kiya, both releasing on August 29.
