On Vijayakanth's 73rd birth anniversary, several politicians and celebrities from the film fraternity remembered the late actor-cum-politician and recalled their memories associated with him.

Actor and Rajya Sabha member Kamal Haasan spoke highly of Vijayakanth. He called him a "dear friend" and said, "I feel that he, who was the embodiment of duty, love, integrity, and courage, is still with us through our memories even today. May his fame flourish."

Sarathkumar, who had worked with Vijayakanth in Pulan Visaranai, fondly remembered him as a "great friend who stood as a support" for his growth in the film industry. He also said he remembers the "wonderful memories and countless moments journeyed with him." "We take pride in remembering our dear brother Captain Vijayakanth, who is filled with indelible memories every day, on his birthday," he further added on his post on X. He also shared a few old pictures with Vijayakanth.

Actor and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam's head Vijay, through his team, wished the late politician and wrote that he will be "remembered forever, with utmost respect."

Vishal called Vijayakanth his "lovable brother" and assured that the Nadigar Sangam building will be inaugurated soon, following the path he laid for them. "It deeply saddens me that a leader as pure-hearted as Captain will not be contesting the 2026 elections. His absence in politics is a personal loss to many of us who admired his integrity and leadership," he wrote, adding, "Captain always led by example. Whether it was ensuring that no one went hungry, or making sure that food was served equally and respectfully to every crew member on set—regardless of their role—his compassion knew no bounds. I continue to uphold these values in everything I do."
