Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra has been certified with a U/A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification, and with that, the makers have officially announced August 28 as the release date. The Kalyani Priyadarshan-Naslen film is now in direct competition with Mohanlal-Sathyan Anthikad’s Hridayapoorvam, which hits screens the same day. This year's Onam theatrical releases include Fahadh Faasil’s Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira, also starring Kalyani, and Maine Pyar Kiya, headlined by Hridhu Haroon and Preity Mukhundhan, both slated for August 29.
Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, a fantasy entertainer made on an ambitious scale, is written and directed by Tharangam filmmaker Dominic Arun. Actor Santhy Balachandran has been credited for the additional screenplay and dramaturgy. The cast includes Chandu Salimkumar, Arun Kurian, Tamil actor-choreographer Sandy, Vijayaraghavan, Raghunath Paleri, Sarath Saba, Nithya Shri, and Nishanth Sagar. The makers have hinted that this will be the first chapter of a potential franchise, with many big names expected to star in the upcoming installments.
Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra, produced by Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films, will also have dubbed versions in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.
