The panel led by producers B Rakesh and Listin Stephen scored a comprehensive victory in the Kerala Film Producers Association’s (KFPA) office-bearer elections, winning all key posts. B Rakesh was elected President with 182 votes, defeating Saji Nanthyattu, who secured 75. Listin Stephen won the Secretary’s post with 128 votes, ahead of director Vinayan (87 votes) and Kalliyoor Sasi (25 votes). A total of 257 members cast their ballots.
The winning panel also claimed the posts of Treasurer, Vice Presidents and Joint Secretaries. Maha Subair (Subair N P) became Treasurer with 154 votes, defeating Saji Nanthyattu for a second time, this time by a margin of 74 votes. Sandip Senan and Sophia Paul were elected Vice Presidents with 187 and 133 votes respectively, while Allwyn Antony (204 votes) and M M Hamsa (192 votes) were chosen as Joint Secretaries.
In the Executive Committee elections, Visakh Subramaniam topped the tally with 208 votes, followed by G Suresh Kumar (201 votes). Others elected were N Krishnakumar, Sherga Sandeep, Ousepachan Valakuzhy, Santosh Pavithram, M C Philip, Century Kochumon, K G Ramesh Kumar, Siyad Koker, Subrahmaniam SST, Abraham Mathew, Mukesh R Mehta, Thomas Thiruvalla and Joby George.
Sandra Thomas, who had run a high-profile campaign criticising the outgoing leadership, failed to secure a place in the Executive Committee, polling 110 votes. Her earlier nominations for the posts of President and Treasurer were rejected. In the previous committee, Rakesh served as General Secretary, Listin Stephen as Treasurer, and Sandip Senan and Maha Subair as Joint Secretaries.
