The Kochi City Police have stated that actor Shine Tom Chacko will be questioned further only after the results of the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) tests on his hair and nail samples are received. The samples were collected following his arrest and medical examination last week, which was part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.

According to Kochi Police Commissioner Putta Vimaladitya, investigators intend to proceed methodically, analysing the actor’s previous statements before initiating additional interrogation. He noted that the actor has so far been cooperative and would be summoned again if deemed necessary.

While authorities have confirmed Shine’s drug use, they maintain that the investigation is still in its initial stages. They are also examining the circumstances surrounding the actor’s attempt to flee when police arrived at the Kochi hotel during the raid. Shine reportedly claimed that he ran because he mistook the officers for criminal elements. However, police officials questioned why he failed to report the incident later if that had truly been the case.

The latest developments come after the actor was arrested last Saturday, two days after allegedly fleeing the scene of a narcotics raid. He was released on conditional station bail following a nearly four-hour-long interrogation. Police suspect Shine attempted to destroy evidence and believe his stay at the hotel, along with co-accused Ahmed Murshad, may have been part of a broader conspiracy involving drug use or possession.

Officers involved in the probe said Shine initially denied any involvement but eventually admitted to drug use when confronted with evidence. Despite appearing confident at the start of the interrogation, the actor reportedly became frustrated and emotional as the questioning progressed.
