Mohanlal is basking in joy after receiving a jersey signed by none other than football icon Lionel Messi. On Sunday, the veteran Malayalam actor took to social media to share a video capturing the special moment, calling it an “unforgettable gift.” The video features Messi personally signing an Argentina jersey and inscribing Mohanlal’s name on it. The clip then cuts to the actor’s reaction as he unboxes the present, visibly thrilled, grinning as he proudly poses with the prized jersey.

In a heartfelt caption accompanying the video, Mohanlal expressed his deep admiration for the football legend. He wrote, “Some moments in life feel too profound for words. They stay with you forever. Today, I experienced one of those moments. As I gently unwrapped the gift, my heart skipped a beat—a jersey signed by the legend himself, Lionel Messi. And there it was… my name, written in his own hand.” He went on to add, “For someone who has long admired Messi, not just for his brilliance on the field but for his humility and grace, this was truly special. This incredible moment wouldn’t have been possible without the kindness of two dear friends: Dr Rajeev Mangottil and Rajesh Philip. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. And above all, thank you, God, for this unforgettable gift.”

Mohanlal was last seen in Prithviraj Sukumaran's L2: Empuraan, which hit cinemas on March 27. The actor is currently shooting for Sathyan Anthikad's Hridayapoorvam, alongside Malavika Mohanan in a pivotal role. The Lucifer actor’s upcoming slate also includes a major political thriller helmed by Mahesh Narayanan. Tentatively titled MMMN, the film is a star-studded affair co-starring Mammootty, Fahadh Faasil, Kunchacko Boban, and Nayanthara.
