Amal Neerad's Bougainvillea will be distributed overseas by Phar Films, the makers announced via social media on Sunday. Along with the update, a new poster was also unveiled, featuring lead actors Kunchacko Boban and Jyothirmayi in black and white, seated across from each other, holding hands, with wine glasses on the table, set against a striking red background. The film, slated to release worldwide on October 17, also stars Fahadh Faasil in a prominent role.

The cast of Bougainvillea also includes Sharafudheen, Veena Nandakumar, and Srinda in key roles. Notably, apart from Kunchacko, all the actors have previously worked with Amal. The film marks the return of Jyothirmayi, Amal's wife, after a hiatus of over a decade. The screenplay is co-written by novelist Lajo Jose and Amal, with additional dialogues by R J Murugan, known for his work on Bheeshma Parvam.

Bougainvillea is bankrolled by Jyothirmayi and Kunchacko Boban under the banners of Amal Neerad Productions and Udaya Pictures, respectively. The director has brought back much of the technical crew from his previous project, including cinematographer Anend C Chandran, editor Vivek Harshan, and composer Sushin Shyam.
