Dulquer Salmaan's Wayfarer Films has bagged the Kerala distribution rights of Jr NTR's Devara: Part 1, slated to be released worldwide on September 27. Recently, the same banner had released the Prabhas-Amitabh Bachchan starrer Kalki in Kerala.

Devara is directed by Koratala Siva, who is reuniting with Jr NTR after the blockbuster success of Janatha Garage. Billed as an action-heavy entertainer, the upcoming film marks the South Indian debut of Bollywood actors Janhvi Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, and Bobby Deol. The film has Jr NTR playing a double role, as a fearful son and his father, a warrior pirate who never returned from one of his missions. Saif Ali Khan plays Bhairava, Devara's friend-turned-foe.

Anirudh Ravichander is composing music for Devara, which has cinematography by R Rathnavelu, editing by A Sreekar Prasad and production design by Sabu Cyril. Produced by Yavasudha Arts and NTR Arts, the film is slated for a pan-Indian release in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam languages.
