In response to recent allegations of sexual misconduct against actor Nivin Pauly and the developments following the release of the Hema Committee Report, actor Gokul Suresh has disclosed that he was once removed from a film after he spoke out against the casting couch in the Malayalam film industry.

While the actor refrained from providing specific details, he emphasised that such issues and negative experiences are not confined to any particular gender. He shared his own experience, stating that during the early days of his career, he had confronted someone who was promoting casting couch on a film set, which led to his dismissal from the project. The actor also called for people to remain open to hearing both sides of any allegation while expressing his support for Nivin, saying he was troubled by the controversy surrounding the Premam actor.

Gokul was last seen in Arun Chandu's critically acclaimed science-fiction mockumentary Gaganachari, which bagged the Special Jury Award for Outstanding Brilliance at the 54th Kerala State Film Awards. The actor is also part of the Mammootty-starrer Dominic and the Ladies' Purse, helmed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, and Karate Chandran, headlined by Fahadh Faasil.
