Earlier in 2023, it was reported that Dulquer Salmaan would be collaborating with Rana Daggubati on a multilingual film Kaantha, directed by Selvamani Selvaraj. The film was launched on Sunday in Hyderabad with a pooja ceremony attended by the cast and crew. Reports suggest that Mr Bachchan-fame Bhagyashri Borse will play the female lead opposite Dulquer. The Sita Ramam actor's home banner Wayfarer Films will produce Kaantha in association with Rana's Spirit Media. The film is set to be released in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi. Further details about the plot, extended cast, and technical crew are awaited.

Selvamani Selvaraj is best known for directing the critically acclaimed Netflix documentary The Hunt for Veerappan. His feature film debut, Nila, starred Sruthi Hariharan in the titular role.

Meanwhile, Dulquer will next be seen in the Telugu heist thriller Lucky Baskhar, written and directed by Venky Atluri. The film, which will be released on October 31 for Diwali, has Meenakshi Chaudhary as the female lead.
