Sexual assault case registered against Nivin Pauly

A case has been registered against actor Nivin Pauly for sexually assaulting a woman under the pretext of offering her a role in cinema. As per the complainant, who has filed the case against Nivin and five others, the incident occurred in Dubai in November 2023. A woman named Shreya, who promised the role and took the survivor abroad, has been named as the first accused. AK Sunil, a film producer and financier, is also accused in the case.

The case registered by Oonnukal police, Ernakulam, will soon be transferred to the Special Investigation Team (SIT), formed by the Kerala government recently to probe the film industry-related accusations.

Following the release of the Hema Committee report this month, many women have come out with allegations of sexual assault, harassment and misconduct against several men from the Malayalam film industry. The SIT has already filed cases against actors Mukesh, Jayasurya, Siddique, Edavela Babu, Maniyanpilla Raju and directors Ranjith and VK Prakash.
