Tamil singer Suchitra has made accusations against Malayalam actor Rima Kallingal and her filmmaker husband, Aashiq Abu, in light of the Hema Committee Report. In an interview with SS Buzz, Suchitra alleged that Rima hosted regular parties at her residence, where drugs were widely used and many young women were introduced to drug use.

Suchitra also suggested that these parties were a significant factor in the decline of Rima's acting career. The singer further stated that she learnt about these allegations from news articles and that several Malayalam singers who attended these parties have confirmed her claims. However, there has been no official verification of some of the claims made by Suchitra, particularly regarding the supposed raids at Rima and Aashiq's residence.

Meanwhile, Rima recently completed the shoot of Biriyaani (2019) director Sajin Baabu's upcoming film Theatre. Notably, two women have accused Sajin of sexually abusing them, as per a recent report on The News Minute. The report also confirms that the director has admitted to his wrongdoings to the survivors and also narrated the incidents to members of the Women in Cinema Collective (WCC).
