Sumathi Valavu starts rolling

It stars Arjun Ashokan, Balu Varghese, Malavika Manoj, Gokul Suresh and Saiju Kurup as part of the lead cast

After the success of Malikappuram (2022), writer Abhilash Pillai and director Vishnu Sasi Shankar are reuniting for Sumathi Valavu, a horror fantasy, which went on floors on Saturday in Palakkad. It stars Arjun Ashokan, Balu Varghese, Malavika Manoj, Gokul Suresh and Saiju Kurup as part of the lead cast. Think Studios is making their production debut in Malayalam with this film. They are backing it in association with Murali Kunnumpurath's Waterman Films LLP.

Earlier while announcing the project, the makers released an intriguing motion poster to introduce a haunted place called Sumathi Valavu and how it has been guarded for centuries by the spirit of a Tamil woman named Sumathi. It also stars Sidharth Bharathan, Sshivada, Manoj KU, Gopika Anil, Sija Rose, Nandu, Sreejith Ravi, Kottayam Ramesh, Sminu Sijo, and the child actors from Malikappuram, Sreepathyan and Devananda.

Sumathi Valavu will have music by Ranjin Raj, cinematography by Shankar PV and editor Shafique Mohamed Ali.
