Earlier, we reported that Thamar KV, best known for helming the critically acclaimed 2022 film 1001 Nunakal, is teaming up with Asif Ali and Divya Prabha for his second feature film. The yet-to-be-titled project will have its switch-on ceremony on November 27 at Fujairah, UAE. Produced by Ajith Vinayaka, with Crispin Dominic serving as the co-producer, the film also stars Manjummel Boys actor Deepak Parambol and Orhan in prominent roles.
Thamar, a Dubai-based filmmaker, explored the lives of Malayali expatriates in his debut feature. His upcoming film, also scripted by him, is a feel-good drama with survival elements and will once again revisit the Gulf backdrop. Govind Vasantha has been roped in to compose the music, while further details about the technical crew are awaited.
Asif also has several other films lined up in various stages of production, including Rekhachithram, Tiki Taka, Abhyanthara Kuttavali and a sequel to Thalavan.
Divya was last seen in Payal Kapadia's debut feature All We Imagine As Light, alongside Kani Kusruti, Chhaya Kadam, and Hridhu Haroon. The critically acclaimed film, released theatrically in India on November 22, won the prestigious Grand Prix at the 77th Cannes Film Festival earlier this year.
