Althaf Salim and Anarkali Marikar reunite for a new film

Billed as a comedy, it also features Joemon Jyothir, Azees Nedumangad, and Anna Prasad in key roles.

Mandakini actors Althaf Salim and Anarkali Marikar are set to reunite in a new film directed by Satheesh Thanvi. The project was officially launched on Wednesday with a traditional pooja ceremony at the Chottanikkara Bhagavati Temple, attended by its cast and crew.

The yet-to-be-titled film is co-written by Satheesh, Shihab Karunagapally, and Sarji Vijayan. Billed as a comedy, it also features Joemon Jyothir, Azees Nedumangad, and Anna Prasad in key roles. Filming will take place in Ernakulam and Thiruvananthapuram, with Nikhil S Praveen behind the camera, Mahesh Bhuvanend on the editing table and Manikandan Ayyappa composing the music. It is produced by M Sreeraj AKD under the banner of Elements of Cinema, with G Marthandan, Ajai Vasudev and Dixon Pothudas serving as executive producers.

Althaf's upcoming slate also includes Anas Kadalundi's Manmadhan. Meanwhile, the actor-director is making his sophomore directorial venture Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira, which stars Fahadh Faasil and Kalyani Priyadarshan in the lead roles.

Anarkali was last seen in the Dhyan Sreenivasan-starrer Thrayam.
