The makers of Nadikar, starring Tovino Thomas and directed by Lal Jr., released the first song from the film titled 'Omal Kanave - David Origin Story'. Job Kurian lent his voice for the song, based on a composition by Yakzan Gary Pereira and Neha Nair, with lyrics by Vinayak Sasikumar. Boopathy directed the music video.

It is a melodic song that offers a flashback involving the younger version of Tovino's character in the film, David, as the title suggests. At the end of the song, Tovino appears right behind his his younger self as tears start to flow from their eyes. It introduces Tovino as "Superstar David Padikkal."

Suvin Somasekharan is the screenwriter of the film, which also stars Soubin Shahir, Bhavana, Shine Tom Chacko, Sreenath Bhasi, Dhyan Sreenivasan, Indrans, Anoop Menon, Ganapathi, and Balu Varghese. The film's title was changed from Nadikar Thilakam as a sign of respect for Sivaji Ganesan. Its shoot was wrapped up this January.
