On Sunday, actor Tovino Thomas took to social media to announce his new film titled Avaran, along with a motion poster featuring the actor. It is directed by Shilpa Alexander, who is making her debut feature, and written by veteran scenarist Benny P Nayarambalam, known for penning films like Junior Mandrake, Kalyanaraman, Kunjikoonan, Chotta Mumbai, Thommanum Makkalum and Marykkundoru Kunjadu, among others.

Avaran is produced by Jinu V Abraham under the banner of Jinu Abraham Innovation. The film has cinematography by Jomon T John, editing by Shameer Muhammed and music by Jakes Bejoy. Shilpa is known for being the Chief Associate Director of the Biju Menon-starrer Padayottam.

Meanwhile, Tovino has debutant Jithin Laal's 3D action adventure Ajayante Randam Moshanam, Akhil Paul and Anas Khan's Identity, alongside Trisha, Saiju Sreedharan's Mumpe, and Prithviraj Sukumaran's Empuraan, the sequel to the much-awaited Lucifer in the pipeline. Also, the actor will be producing the Basil Joseph-starrer Marana Mass.
