Sarath Kumar to star in Major Ravi's Operation Raahat

The film is planned as a multilingual in all major Indian languages

Director Major Ravi is teaming up with Sarath Kumar for his new film, Operation Raahat. Scripted by K Krishnakumar, the film is based on the operations of the Indian Armed Forces to evacuate Indian citizens and foreign nationals from Yemen during the 2015 military intervention by Saudi Arabia and its allies in that country during the Yemeni Crisis.

Planned as a multilingual in Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada, the film is backed by Presidential Movies International Pvt Ltd. The film's crew includes Major Ravi's son Arjun Ravi as the cinematographer, Ranjin Raj as the music director and Don Max as the editor. More details regarding the cast members and shooting plans are awaited.

Major Ravi, best known for helming army-based films, last made 1971: Beyond Borders (2017) with Mohanlal. In 2020, the director had announced a film based on the Indo-Chinese conflict. Titled Bridge on Galwan, it was supposed to be primarily centred around the construction of the strategic bridge on Galwan valley that was a key trigger for the issues between the two countries. However, there have been no updates regarding the project since then.
