Adios Amigo postpones its release

The change comes amidst the torrential rains in Kerala and as the Wayanad landslide death toll has crossed 250

Ashiq Usman, the producer of Adios Amigo, starring Asif Ali and Suraj Venjaramood, has announced that the film will not release as planned on August 2, in light of the torrential rains in Kerala and the Wayanad landslides. In the announcement post on Instagram, he said, "As we cope with the incessant rains and the calamity that has struck Wayanad, our hearts go out to the families and loved ones who have suffered unimaginable loss. This is a time of immense grief and sorrow, and we stand in solidarity with those affected. We know that this tragedy has impacted all of us deeply in one way or the other, hence we would like to postpone the release."

The makers are yet to announce a new release date for the film. The change comes shortly after actor Manju Warrier and director Saiju Sreedharan's found footage film Footage also postponed its release. It also comes as the Wayanad landslide death toll has crossed 250.

Adios Amigo is directed by debutant Nahas Nazar from a screenplay by Thankam of Kettyolaanu Ente Malakha fame. Adios Amigo also stars Shine Tom Chacko, Ganapathi, Althaf Salim, Jinu Joseph, Salim Hassan, Anagha, Muthumani, and Riaa Saira in prominent roles. Produced by Ashiq Usman, the film has cinematography by Jimshi Khalid, editing by Nishadh Yusuf, and music by Gopi Sunder.
