Manorathangal Trailer: Film legends assemble for anthology on MT Vasudevan Nair's stories

Priyadarshan serves as the Manorathangal showrunner and directed two of the nine stories that form the anthology

The Manorathangal production banner Saregama India Ltd dropped a trailer for the anthology, based on nine stories by legendary Malayalam writer MT Vasudevan Nair, coinciding with the latter's 91st birthday. The trailer starts with Kamal Haasan saying, "MT sir is synonymous with the modernity of Malayalam literature." It then goes on to show clips from each of the shorts based on MT Vasudevan Nair's stories: Olavum Theeravum (directed by Priyadarshan), Kadugannawa Oru Yathra (by Ranjith), Kazhcha (by Shyamaprasad), Shilalikhatam (by Priyadarshan), Vilpana (by MT's daughter Aswathy V Nair), Sherlock (by Mahesh Narayanan), Swargam Thurakkunna Samayam (by Jayarajan Nair), Abhyam Theedi Vendum (by Santosh Sivan), and Kadalkkattu (by Rathish Ambat).

Priyadarshan serves as the Manorathangal showrunner. Producers comprise Vikram Mehra, Siddharth Anand Kumar, Rohandeep Singh, Rajesh Kejriwal, and Jay Pandya.

The star-studded cast includes Kamal Haasan, Mohanlal, Mammootty, Fahadh Faasil, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Harish Uthaman, Biju Menon, Shanthi Krishna, Joy Mathew, Madhoo, Asif Ali, Nadiya Moidu, Kailash, Indrans, Mamukkoya, Nedumudi Venu, Vineeth, Renji Panicker, Surabhi Lakshmi, Siddique, Ishit Yamini, Nazeer Samkranthi, Indrajith Sukumaran, Narain, and Aparna Balamurali.

Manorathangal will release on August 15 on Zee5 with dubs in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.
