Alphonse Puthren onboard Arun Vaiga's directorial

Earlier, we had reported that Arun Vaiga's next directorial, headlined by Golam-fame Ranjith Sajeev, has started rolling. The latest development is that director Alphonse Puthren has joined the cast of the untitled film for a cameo role, announced Upacharapoorvam Gunda Jayan director through a social media post. Earlier, Alphonse had made a cameo appearance in his own directorial Premam (2015).

Written and edited by Arun, the upcoming film also stars Johny Antony, Indrans, Manoj KU, Rony David, Manju Pillai, Sangeetha, Bilal Moosi, Sarangi Shyam, Akhila Anoki, Merissa Jose, and Chandini Sreekumar, among others. It has Sinoj P Ayyappan wielding the camera, while Alphonse's regular composer Rajesh Murugesan handles the music. The film, which began rolling in March, is being shot around Erattupetta, Munnar, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, and Chennai. It is produced by Anne and Sajeev's Fragrant Nature Film Creations in association with Alexander Mathew's Pooyappally Films.

Alphonse's last outing as a director was Gold (2022), featuring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Nayanthara. Last year, Premam filmmaker announced a Tamil film Gift as his next directorial, which includes music by Ilaiyaraaja. The current status of the film is unknown.
