Earlier, we reported that Prithviraj Sukumaran and his producer wife Supriya Menon bought stakes in a football team that would compete in the forthcoming Super League Kerala (SLK) Football Championship. Earlier today, Prithviraj confirmed through a social media post that Forca Kochi FC is the name of the team. In the post, he wrote, "We're thrilled to introduce Kochi's new force in football. As we step onto the field with this new name, the Force of Kochi is poised for success and endless possibilities. We unite with world-class local football talent, inspiring Kochi and embedding every fan in our legacy."

Legendary Indian Tennis player and SG Sports and Entertainments CEO Mahesh Bhupathi and his actor spouse Lara Dutta are the owners of the team. It is among the six teams that will participate in the football league in Kerala. Scoreline Sports Private Limited and Kerala Football Association are the organisers of the event, which aims to enrich the state's football ecosystem. As per a statement from Prithviraj and Supriya, by acquiring the stakes, they aim to provide a platform for budding football talents in the region, creating opportunities for players to shine. The first edition of the event will take place this September.

On the work front, Prithviraj has L2: Empuraan, the sequel to his blockbuster directorial with Mohanlal Lucifer, Vilayath Budha, and Salaar Part 2 in the pipeline.
