The makers of Jis Joy's Thalavan released the video of the song titled Kanunnathum Kelkkunnathum. Composed by Deepak Dev with lyrics penned by the director, the song has been sung by Biju Menon, one of the lead actors of the film.

Thalavan, jointly scripted by Sharath Perumbavoor and Anand Thevarakkattu, narrates the ego clash between two Police officers of different ranks, played by Asif Ali and Biju. The film also stars Dileesh Pothen, Anusree, Kottayam Nazeer, Shankar Ramakrishnan, Joji K John, Dinesh, Anuroop and Nandan Unni, among others. It has cinematography by Sharan Velayudhan and editing by Sooraj E S.

Produced by Arun Narayan and Sijo Sebastian, Thalavan hit the screens on May 24 and met with positive reviews. An excerpt from the CE review of the film reads, "After failing with Innale Vare, it's safe to say Jis Joy's attempt to shift genres has considerably succeeded with Thalavan. While the film may not be an entirely gripping experience, it still is an engaging murder mystery."
